We offer own boat tuition for up to individuals or groups of up to 3 persons.

Own boat tuition is an an excellent way of getting to know the capabilities of your own boat.
We offer own boat tuition on powerboats from our base in Torquay, or we can also come to you – depending on where your boat is based.

Whether you simply just want to get confident at the helm, need assistance in berthing, or want full tuition in how to handle your boat safely and confidently then we can assist.

Pricing for own boat tuition is £60 per hour and can be for up to 3 persons.

We do require proof of insurance and some basic safety equipment onboard your boat – please get in touch for more information.

Is this suitable for me?

This is own boat tuition on your boat therefore the training can be tailored to suit your needs. Whatever you are not confident on we can assist with.

Can I obtain my Powerboat Level 2 certificate?

Yes, we can do this on your own boat with you for up to 3 persons. We will also include some theory work on buoys, navigation planning and charts.

What safety equipment is needed?

We will need proof of insurance for your boat. We also need basic safety equipment such as lifejackets, anchor with chain and warp, flares, first aid kit, chart plotter with depth sounder, spare kill cord and fire extinguishers. Fuel is also needed. A full list will be given upon enquiry.
