COASTAL EXPLORER

90 minute coastal trip looking for wildlife.

ABOUT YOUR TRIP

£45 per person

90 minute trip starting from Torquay Marina

Maximum 12 persons per trip

Suitability: No Back or Neck problems

There is no minimum age.

Our longest boat trip that we offer.

Join us for 90 minutes as we hug the coast finding coves, caves and the very best bits of Torbay to show you.  We then extend further along the coast taking in even more beautiful sights and exploring the UNESCO Geo Park.

We will visit some rock islands which are home to an array of sea birds including Guillemots between March and July.  These islands are also home to our local seals so keep an eye out.

We then extend further out to sea as we seek our resident dolphin pods and look for porpoise.

As with all wildlife it can not be guaranteed but we will keep our eyes peeled and who knows what we might see !

Meet us at MDL Marina in Torquay where we will get kitted up in lifejackets and start our safety briefings.

We then depart Torquay Marina for 90 minutes of coastal exploration and fun.  We break the trip up in short segments stopping at places of interest to allow you to enjoy the beauty of Torbay and keep an eye out for wildlife.

As with all water based activities the wind and weather conditions will always determine where we operate but our skippers will always find the right bits of Torbay to make sure you have a memorable ride

Wind-chill means that it is considerably cooler onboard our boats so we recommend lots of layers including a waterproof layer and sensible shoes.

Cameras are very welcome – we want you to capture your trip in glorious detail.

What is the minimum age?

There is no minimum age.  Babies are welcome and we have baby lifejackets available.  No charge for under 3 year olds – but please let us know they are coming.

Is there a walk to the boat?

Customers should be aware that there is a short walk from the meeting point to the activity location. This is less than a 2 minutes walk. The boat is boarded in MDL marina.

Are there any health restrictions?

We are happy to welcome any customers of any ability, however RIB trips are a physical activity.  If you are unsure please give us a call to discuss.  If pregnant we advice against incase we experience any bumps whilst out on the water however please contact your doctor for advice.  We do offer private own bubble RIB trips which can be tailored to suit.

What if the weather is bad?

This is the UK so we don’t stop unless the waves and wind are too heavy or the rain too hard. We will offer other times/dates but Torbay is very sheltered and the boat is super stable.

Will I get wet?

Our RIBs are very dry and stable and we will not intentionally get you wet !! However travelling on water can occasionally mean there is light spray although our skippers will do everything to ensure this is minimised.

What shall I wear?

Wind chill on the water is always a factor.  Dress in readiness for temperatures a few degrees lower than on land.  We strongly reccomend that you come with a windproof or waterproof jacket or other suitable warm clothing.  Lifejackets will be provided and are mandatory.  Sensible shoes please.

What to bring?

Please leave all bags in your car.  Nothing can be held in your hands during your ride.  Small shoulder bags can be worn.

Can I take photos?

Yes -we very much want you to capture your trip on the water with us !!

The weather in the English Riviera is mostly kind to us – but be prepared.

Wind chill on the water is always a factor:

  • Layers are good – you can never have enough !
  • Hats and gloves are welcome if cold.
  • We are unable to provide waterproofs – come prepared.
  • Flat sensible shoes – no heels.
  • The RIB has a mix of jockey seats and a rear bench seat – avoid skirts and dresses.
  • We provide life jackets which are mandatory for all persons.
