Listen to the growl of the 3 x V8 300hp Mercury Verado engines as we depart Torquay Harbour.

There are a couple of set routes for Raptor and our Skippers will choose the best area for your trip ensuring a safe and comfortable ride as well as interesting places to stop whilst you catch your breath.

Enjoy the thrill of the astonishing acceleration of this amazing RIB – truly a thoroughbred.

We think it’s an experience you will never forget !!

30 minutes of exhilarating fun.  We break the trip up in short bursts stopping at places of interest to allow you to get your breath back, enjoy the beauty of Torbay and get another chance to enjoy the amazing acceleration of Raptor.

As with all water based activities the wind and weather conditions will always determine where we operate but our skippers will always find the right bits of Torbay to make sure you have a memorable ride

Wind-chill means that it is considerably cooler onboard Raptor so we recommend lots of layers including a waterproof layer and sensible shoes. Goggles are provided to protect you from the wind, however you may bring your own eye protection, but please make sure they are well secured.

You are required to hold on for the duration of the trip so please do not bring any bags onboard as these cannot be secured. Phones can be taken onboard but they must be secured in a zipped pocket.

What is the minimum age?

A guide is age 10 but this really depends on leg length as we want everyone to be able to touch the floor whilst sat down. The leg length needs to be approximately 25-26″.

Is there a walk to the boat?

Customers should be aware that there is a short walk from the meeting point to the activity location. This is less than 5 minutes walk. There are also steps to walk down to board the Raptor and return up after. These steps do become submerged in water at various tide times, so can be slippery – care must be taken at all times when descending and ascending these steps. The hand rail must be used at all times.

What if the weather is bad?

This is the UK so we don’t stop unless the waves and wind are too heavy or the rain too hard. We will offer other times/dates but Torbay is very sheltered and the boat is super stable.

Will I get wet?

Raptor is a very dry and stable boat and we will not intentionally get you wet !! However travelling at speed on water can occasionally mean there is light spray although our skippers will do everything to ensure this is minimised.

What shall I wear?

Wind chill on the water is always a factor.  Dress in readiness for temperatures a few degrees lower than on land.  We strongly reccomend that you come with a windproof or waterproof jacket or other suitable warm clothing.  Lifejackets will be provided and are mandatory.  Sensible shoes please.

What to bring?

Please leave all bags in your car.  Nothing can be held in your hands during your ride.  Small shoulder bags can be worn providing they fit under clothing.

Can I take photos?

Yes – when the RIB is stopped or in Torquay harbour.  When the Raptor sets off at speed your phone/ camera must be securely in your pocket.  We can’t allow cameras to be worn around the neck or any items to be hand held.  You are welcome to wear Go Pro harnesses.  The Raptor is fitted with 2 Go Pro cameras which will film the entire trip in 4K UHD – so every smile is captured.  We sell a short edited film of your ride and post pictures daily on social media.

The weather in the English Riviera is mostly kind to us – but be prepared.

Wind chill on the water is always a factor…..especially at high speeds.

  • Layers are good – you can never have enough !
  • Hats and gloves are welcome if cold.
  • We are unable to provide waterproofs – come prepared.
  • Flat sensible shoes – no heels.
  • The Raptor has jockey seats – avoid skirts and dresses.
  • We provide life jackets which are mandatory for all persons.

To mitigate risk to staff and customers we are ensuring the following:

  • Rides will be timed to allow gaps between trips limiting the number of persons in one area.
  • The boat will be disinfected bewteen trips and fully deep cleaned at the end of each day.
  • Masks must be worn during your time with us.  Masks are available to buy should you not have one.
  • Hand cleansing stations are located upon arrival and before boarding the RIB.
  • Lifejackets will be fully disinfected between trips.
  • All equipment fully disinfected again at the end of the day and left over night.
  • We will reduce our use of waterproofs so please ensure you come fully equipped for the weather conditions on the day.

If you or any member of your party are displaying any symptons of coronavirus then please do not turn up for your Rib Ride.
