What is the minimum age?
A guide is age 10 but this really depends on leg length as you need to be able to have your feet flat on the floor whilst sat down. The leg length needs to be approximately 25-26″. We have a test seat at our sales kiosk if you’re unsure.
Is there a walk to the boat?
Customers should be aware that there is a short walk from the meeting point to the activity location. This is less than a 2 minutes walk. The boat is boarded from within MDL Marina.
Are there any health restrictions?
We are happy to welcome customers of any ability, however RIB trips are a physical activity. If you are unsure please give us a call to discuss. If pregnant, we advice against taking part in Raptor trips in case we experience any bumps whilst out on the water however please contact your doctor for advice.
What if the weather is bad?
This is the UK so we don’t stop unless the waves and wind are too heavy or the rain too hard. We will offer other times/dates but Torbay is very sheltered and the boat is very stable.
Will I get wet?
Raptor is a very dry and stable boat and we will not intentionally get you wet! However travelling at speed on water can occasionally mean there is light spray although our skippers will do their best to ensure this is minimised.
What shall I wear?
Wind chill on the water is always a factor. Dress in readiness for temperatures a few degrees lower than on land. We strongly recommend that you come with a windproof or waterproof jacket or other suitable warm clothing. Lifejackets will be provided and are mandatory. Please wear sensible shoes.
What to bring?
Please leave all bags behind. Nothing should be held in your hands during your ride. Small shoulder bags can be worn providing they fit under clothing. We can take care of your bags at our sales kiosk during your trip.
Can I take photos?
Yes – we would love you to capture your trip. We recommend keeping any devices in your pocket whilst we are moving, but there will be stops to capture pictures and video. We can’t allow cameras to be worn around the neck. You are welcome to wear Go Pro harnesses.
